12x16 inch Original acrylic and oil painting on wood panel.

Against a deep violet background, a moon is cresting over a misty cloud as stars twinkle and shoot across the sky. Steep jagged cliffs tower over a basin, as a waterfall reaches for the steady river below. Set in a whimsical wood, moss and lichen stretch over rocks and various trees while a fae of some kind perches on a rock in the river, gazing distantly at the moon. Her pink dress is wet and slightly less opaque, her jewelry dangling against her limbs as a foot dips in the water below her. Ripples in the water and a steady tree in the foreground almost place the viewer in the scene, curiously approaching the fae. This piece, part of the painting songs collection the artist adds to occasionally, calls to various lyrics from Sleep Token songs such as “I might break and bend to my basic need to be loved and close to somebody” in an instinctive drive to end loneliness, as well as “I look for scarlet and you look for ultraviolet” calling to the main tone of the piece, purple, as well as a theme present in the artist’s life at the time of the painting in regards to suppressing oneself to appease another.
