Painting no.5 of the 2023 Spring Collection, this acrylic painting on Masonite depicts a bold orange desert sunrise, the ombré from bright yellow to orange to pink having a warming effect on this particular morning sky. Streaks of orange clouds across the sky, illuminated by the bright sun, created by a layer of wrinkled gold foil. Gentle rounded dunes across the skyline, a layer of light pink and a layer of rich purple to give depth, highlighted with tones from the sky and shadowed with Pthalo Blue, a technique commonly used by the artist. Warm in tone, location, and name, this piece feels welcoming and adventurous.
