 Painting no.7 of the 2023 Spring Collection, this acrylic painting on Masonite depicts a heavenly sky of chromatic blue, with dense and rich purple clouds. Shadowed well with violet, hints of rosy pink, and shades of light purple, then highlighted thoughtfully with white and a shimmering of gold. Rich pink clouds smeared across the bottom of the piece, given depth by a warm tone purple. The top thin clouds sun-danced across the sky with hues of yellow and a shimmering gold, a soft warm pink across their tops where the sun doesn’t quite reach. Opaque gold sun rays stream grandly in between gaps in the cloud ridden sky. This particular view of the sky reminding the artist of her late grandmother, this piece named Penny in honor of the approaching Mother’s Day at the time of creation and for it’s heavenly appeal.
