Pyramid Rock

Captured on site at Pyramid Rock Beach on Marine Corps Base Hawaii,  this acrylic painting on Masonite features the fleeting of the sunset on December 27th, 2022. The sky a  vibrant ombré of blue, yellow, and peach with pale purple and pink clouds. A very chaotic ocean tumbling in towards the shore and splashing frantically on the rocks around the base of Pyramid Rock. The left side of the painting depicting Pyramid Rock with its greenery itself and the memorable observation structure, viewed from this angle appeared to be chevroned with black and white stripes, half in the shadow. This painting fell in the sand on the shore during the sketching process, the corner is now adorned with sand from the actual beach scattered across the top left corner. The piece is sealed with Liquitex for a glossy protective finish.
